Postcards from Lake Garda

Hello loves! Greetings from Lake Garda, Italy. I am having a little holiday here with my friends, Terhi and Kiko. We are pampering ourselves with traditional food and wines and enjoying time together in these stunning postcard views. I hope you will get inspired by our trip and that you have a chance to visit Lake Garda one day too!

Lake Garda is the biggest lake in Italy and it's a perfect destination for lovers of beauty and nature. One of the many ways to enjoy the lake is to take a little sailing trip. You can rent anything from small motorboats to private all-inclusive sailing trips. A nice and affordable way to discover Lake Garda is to move from one village to another by taking an affordable ferry ride.

Climbing, kayaking, biking, walking… Lake Garda is full of activities. The 140 kilometers long biking route around the lake is one of the most beautiful biking routes in Italy. For trekking, one of the most popular places is Mont Baldo -mountain.

Lake Garda is surrounded by lovely villages and cities like Malcesine, Peschiera del Garda and Limone Sul Garda.

Dolce far niente -moments in Malcesine.

Wine tastings and delicious food by the lake in Ristorante Al Vas.

Maybe the best thing to do in Lake Garda is to just relax and indulge yourself with food and wines. As we are by the lake, the traditional cuisine has a lot of fish. Lake Garda has high-quality wines too, so a winery visit is a must! If you prefer red wines, visit wineries in the city of Bardolino, and if you are more into white and sparkling wines, Lugana in the province of Brescia is worth visiting.

Morning walk and a visit to farmhouse Al Scriciol in San Zeno di Montagna, a small town on the Veronese shore of Lake Garda.

Lunch in Al Scriciol -farmhouse with my lovely travel company Terhi and Kiko.

Stunning views, vegetarian lasagna, gnocchi with truffles and some Bardolino, please.

The Veronese shore of Lake Garda is called La Riviera degli Ulivi, since it has the perfect climate for olive farming. Besides winery visits, a visit to an olive oil -farm is a nice idea too! We had the pleasure to visit the award-winning boutique olive oil farm Paolo Bonomelli in Torri del Benaco.

Evening swim before dinner.

Feeling like a princess in the luxurious wine relais Villa Cordevigo.

Villa Cordevigo seduces the eye.

My dinner date cannot get better than this.

Ristorante Oseleta

One of the best dinners I ever had. Villa Cordevigo´s Ristorante Oseleta has earned its Michelin star.
