…and all my roads lead to Rome.
2003, Firenze.
I was on high school´s culture trip – and boom – I fell instantly in love.
Michelangelo´s David statue, Botticelli´s The Birth of Venus. Warm nights. Beautiful, easygoing people. The atmosphere. Beauty in every corner.
I felt I was at home.
Years went by, I lived in my hometown, Helsinki, Finland, and my mind kept wondering back. On holidays I often travelled to Italy. I visited Venezia with my mother, and I did few holiday trips to Milano, Napoli, Amalfi Coast and Capri. But time after time I always returned back to Rome…
2020, Rome.
Some said I am bold and brave. Some said I am totally crazy. I have come a long journey to this point in my life where I dare to make my all dreams reality, despite what other people say.
Today I am writing my first blog post in my second home, in Rome, Italy. I came here alone and I barely know anyone – which actually feels exciting! Jumping into the unknown, starting from zero in a new country makes me feel free, reborn and definitely alive.
For almost 20 years, deep down inside my heart, I knew this would happen. I feel Italy is the place where I want to spend more and more time from now on. And who knows, maybe I will stay here. Eternally.
I hope you enjoy following my adventures and get enchanted and inspired by the beauty of Italy. There is so much I want to show you!
